A revitalized Medvedev claimed his first trophy for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.

His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in particular - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with former mentor Gilles Cervara.

Presently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This represents the player's first title following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court from March of 2023.

"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a title is really nice," stated ranked player the champion.

"This title is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six finals, comprising in that event in the past months.

The player's defensive strategy and recurring reactions on the tennis court had caused observers to doubt if his capacity to play at the highest level was finished.

But the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and compete aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.

The champion fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky opponent, securing four of the last five exchanges to take the lead.

The competitors exchanged service breaks in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his initial ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to create a third set.

He defended 4 early chances in a competitive final set before the Russian won the break to 15 to secure the win.

Appropriately, the winner clinched victory with a rally at the net area, with his opponent failing to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
